2021 International School Freshmen Orientation

The International School freshmen orientation was held on September 14th, 2021 in Room 409 of the Qizhi Building. Attendees included Prof. Yu Huifen, the Dean of the International School; Prof. Li Pinghai, the Vice Dean of the International School; Mr. Yang Lijun, the Counselor of the International School; all staff from the International School; freshmen and senior student representatives. The meeting aimed to help freshmenclear points ofconfusion and prepare to successfully integrate into college life as soon as possible.

The meeting was divided into two parts. The first part, hosted by Counselor Yang, focused on the faculty and students to get them acquainted  with each other. Counselor Yang briefly introduced the faculty and staff to the students, and expressed a warm welcome to all attendees.

Then, Mr. Mo Zhiqiang, the Teaching Secretary of the International School, delivered a speech concerning the degree majors and academic requirements. He emphasized that students in the International Class must meet the grade points average (GPA) and IELTS score required for studying abroad. In addition, he encouraged freshmen to make learning plans in advance to stay on track.

Finally, the Vice Dean Li made a summary speech. He introduced the characteristics and class structure of the International School. Then, he sincerely hoped that students can seize the advantages of small class teaching, have more interactions with teachers, and cherish the good learning environment of the International School. Finally, Vice Dean Li stressed the importance of university study for future development and remind students to keep working hard at this new starting point.

The second part of the meeting was conducted between seniors  and freshmen. Representatives from various departments of the Student Union gave short presentations to the freshmen; detailing department functions and features. They expressed that the freshmen should devote themselves to studying, completing their duties advance their learning, knowledge, and acquire skills.

The 2021 International School freshmen orientation came to a successful conclusion. We all wish the 2021 cohort all the success as they start their journey at Guangzhou Huashang College.
