International School Successfully Held Opening Ceremony for the 2022 Freshman

In the morning of September 23rd, the International School held an opening ceremony, with almost 30 freshmen and faculty attended in Room 401 of Qizhi Building.

At the beginning of the meeting, counselor Yang introduced the guests: Professor Li Pinghai, Vice Dean of International School, Counselor Yang Lijun, Teaching Secretary Mo Zhiqiang, Administrative Secretary Hao Zixiu, and staff Ms Shen Xiaoting and Ms Li Yonghe. And he would like to extend a warm welcome to all freshmen.

Then, Mr. Yang gave a speech. He hoped that the students would maintain their enthusiasm for learning as they did in high school, persevere toward hardship, cherish college time, be independent and confident, and create a valuable college life.

The academic planning of the International School and the requirements on IELTS score for studying abroad were then presented by Mr Mo. He emphasized the significance of grades, encouraged students to make effective study plans, and warn students against cheating in the exam.

Next, as the representative of senior students of International School, Li Biying from the Class 2019 gave a speech. She claimed that the students had made efforts to enter the college and would start their new life with energy and anticipation. College is not the destination of students’ hard work but the new beginning of their dream. Learning is an important skill which encompasses gaining knowledge, organizing life time and developing social skills. Making an overall plan is a must for freshmen, along with taking part in school activities and improving themselves.

Then, the freshman representative Gong Yuxin showed her expectation for the college life, and expected to adapt to the new life quickly. She decided to learn from the excellent senior students to organize time better. Besides, she stressed that she would take advantage of every opportunity to improve herself with self-discipline and enthusiasm.

In the closing, Vice-dean Li addressed the meeting. He extended a warm welcome to the freshmen, thought highly of their performance in the military training, and reminded students to be more self-disciplined and confident in their future study and life. He regarded life as a marathon, remarked that whether it goes well depending on our capacity and competence, and advised students to cherish the good times to make themselves fully developed.
