2021 International School Freshman Readiness Training
In order to help freshmen better adapt to university life, make plans in advance, and enhance their university cognition, the International School conducted the 2021 freshmen readiness training in Room 409 of Qizhi Building on September 14th. Dean Yu Huifen and Counsellor Yang Lijun of the International School introduced important topics of interest to the students.
Mr. Yang Lijun started the meeting by talking about key points students should be aware of: the meaning of university and university life. He suggested that freshmen should develop a dynamic learning plan for their studies in advance, develop their interpersonal and professional skills, participate in extracurricular activities, appropriately deal with interpersonal relationships, and actively exercise to improve their physical fitness. Finally, he put forward several requirements: handle roommate relationships positively , prevent pyramid schemes and fraud, abide by school rules, and strive to improve safety awareness and ethical behavior. .

Through Counsellor Yang's explanations and suggestions, the freshmen have a comprehensive understanding of the university and are prepared for an active university life .
In order to enhance the personal qualities of freshmen, boost their confidence in learning and help them integrate into a civilized and courteous 21st century university, Dean Yu Huifen gave a wonderful speech on the theme of Promoting Traditional Culture and Learning Modern Etiquette.
Dean Yu interacted with the students by asking questions and citing recent cases to illustrate the influence of traditional culture and modern etiquette on life. Then, Dean Yu focused on four aspects: the definition of traditional culture and modern etiquette, the relationship between traditional culture and modern etiquette, the significance of learning etiquette to enhance personality, and modern etiquette, and the art of communication.
Dean Yu shared how to eliminate cultural differences through sharing her experience, encouraging freshmen to improve their English so as to better integrate into an international society. Dean Yu also talked on modern etiquette with examples of behaviors, such as: body language and communication skills. She emphasized the importance of respect, sincerity, praise, and active listening in interpersonal communication. Finally, she hoped the freshmen can become people with noble personality.
