Students of International School Participating in the 10th Sport Meeting
On November 15th, 2019, the 10th sport meeting of Huashang College was held at the West Playground. All of the students enthusiastically welcomed the annual sport meeting which lasted for 2 days.
On the 1st day, the opening ceremony started with the march of phalanxes of the national flag made up from all departments. The students of International School marched in the procession and recited slogans to show their athletic and youthful spirit. The march was then followed by the flag-raising ceremony. The bright five-star red flag was hoisted with the melodious tunes of the national anthem. The song “My People and My Country” was sang by teachers and students attending. Student and referee representatives pledged to obey the rules of the competition on behalf of the athletes. Finally, Executive President Guo Yinhua declared the sport meeting open.

On the morning of first day, the athletes of International school participated in the preliminary rounds of the Men’s & Women’s 100 Meters, Men’s 400 Meters，Men’s Shot Put, and the finals of Men’s Long Jump and Women’s High Jump. In the afternoon, a number of sport events were completed, such as the preliminary rounds of Men’s 200 Meters, Women’s 200 Meters and the finals of Men’s 100 Meters, Women’s 100 Meters, Men’s 800 Meters, Women’s 1500 Meters, Women’s Shot Put, Women’s Long Jump, Men’s High Jump. Athletes carried forward the Olympic spirit and demonstrate their youthful vigor throughout each round of the competition.

On the 2nd day, the enthusiasm of athletes towards the sports continued. The sport items were finals of Men’s 200 Meters, Women’s 200 Meters, 4×100 Meters and Men’s Triple Jump. Students demonstrated their vitality and passion throughout the competition. After the 2-day event, Liu Ziying won 3rd place in the Women Shot Put, Cheng Sujing won 6th place in the Women High Jump and the International School Team were awarded Team 7th place.
