In order to further implement the school's educational positioning, broaden the international perspective of college students, and understand the development, operation, and requirements for the quality and ability of international organization staff from a higher and more professional level.On June 4, 2024, Lv Junmin, Vice President of Guangzhou Huashang College, led a delegation included, Dean Hui Yanyan and Party Branch Secretary Yang Lijun of the International College, to visit the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China) in Beijing.Ms. Hu Wenli, Vice-President and Director-General of UNA-China, Ms. Wang Ying, Deputy Director General of UNA-China, and Director Feng Fei, received Vice President Lv and his delegation.
Lv Junmin introduced the school's educational positioning, discipline and major construction, characteristic development, and the work and main achievements in broadening the international perspective of college students. He also expressed his desire and ideas to broaden the international perspective of college students from a higher and more professional level to theUNA-China.
Hu Wenli introduced the growth, development, construction, main functions, projects, and activities of the United Nations Association of China. She also expressed appreciation and recognition for Guangzhou Huashang College's active involvement in international organization talent cultivation and broadening the international perspective of college students.
Both sides also had in-depth discussions on future work, project cooperation, talent cultivation, and knowledge dissemination of international organizations such as the United Nations.
This visit will further promote the construction of the student association of Guangzhou Huashang College in the field of international organization knowledge dissemination, and also cultivate a group of reserve talents who are familiar with the operation mode and rules of the United Nations, familiar with international affairs, and have strong international communication skills.
The United Nations Association of China (UNA-China) is theonly nationwide non-governmental organization in China devoted to the promotion of the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter. UNA-China is headquartered in Beijing and headed by a president and a vice-president. The Secretariat, led by the Director-General and his/her Deputy, is responsible for the daily work. The current President of the UNA-China is Mr. WANG Chao, who is the former Vice Minister of Ministry of Commerce, the former Vice Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and also the current President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs. The current Vice-President and Director-General of UNA-China is Ms. HU Wenli, who was the Deputy Director-General of Department of International Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.In 2021,UNA-Chinawas awarded the title of "National Advanced Social Organization".
