To further broaden university students' international perspectives and enrich the multicultural atmosphere on campus, following the successful organization of eight sessions of the "Exploring Foreign Cultures, Promoting Mutual Learning Among Civilizations" international cultural exchange series, the ninth session—the Polish Culture Sharing Session—was held on September 3, 2024. The keynote speakers for this event were Dr. Bogdan Wierzbinski, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Rzeszów, Poland, and his wife, Ms. Agnieszka Wierzbinska. Attendees included Wang Wenzhong, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation; Hui Yanyan, Dean of the International School; Fu Zhigang, Visiting Professor from the University of Rzeszów; Yang Lijun, Secretary of the International School's Party Branch; Dr. Aneela Qadir, a Pakistani faculty member; John Jung, an American faculty member; Begum Firinci, a Turkish faculty member; Joshua Cachin, a Filipino faculty member; and over 60 students from the School of Data Science, School of Humanities, School of Health Medicine, School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Communication and Media, and the International School. Together, they immersed themselves in the charm of Polish culture. The session was hosted by Director Wang Wenzhong.

Dr. Bogdan Wierzbinski began by introducing Poland's history, followed by its economy, language, art, and the global influence of notable Polish figures. His presentation provided deep insights into Poland's role as an EU member state, its relationships with other EU countries in science, technology, economy, and social development, and the nation's darkest moments during its 123-year absence from the world stage. The audience also admired the fearless spirit of scientists like Copernicus and Marie Curie, who dedicated their lives to truth.

Later, Dr. Bogdan Wierzbinski and his wife introduced traditional Polish cuisine. To prepare for this cultural event, they specially brought authentic ingredients from Poland and spent a day cooking. Through cultural sharing and food tasting, participating students gained a profound understanding and appreciation of Polish culture. Many took photos to commemorate this feast of culture and cuisine.

Director Wang Wenzhong and Dean Hui Yanyan expressed their gratitude to Dr. Bogdan Wierzbinski and Ms. Agnieszka Wierzbinska for their meticulous preparations and presented them with certificates of appreciation.

Through this series of cultural sharing sessions, students have been able to explore the cultures of different countries without leaving campus. While improving their English proficiency, they have also enhanced their international communication skills and cross-cultural competence.
