To better help students understand the current employment landscape, enhance their competitiveness in the job market, and improve their resume writing and interview skills, on December 10, 2024, the International School of Guangzhou Huashang College invited Ms. Zou Yanping, Administrative General Manager of Anzhi Holding Group Co., Ltd., to deliver a lecture titled "Building Dreams in the Workplace: Career Planning and Employment Guidance for University Students." The lecture was attended by Dean Hui Yanyan of the International School, faculty members, and over 110 students from the International School, Communication and Media School, Management School, Accounting School, Health Medical School, Teacher Education School, and Artificial Intelligence School. Dean Hui Yanyan presided over the event.
Ms. Zou Yanping began the lecture by interacting and engaging with the students. She then analyzed the employment market trends of the past five years, emphasizing the importance of workplace competitiveness and early career planning. Regarding career planning, she guided students in self-assessment, helping them recognize their strengths and weaknesses while clarifying the role of interests, abilities, and aspirations in career choices. She encouraged students to strive for higher GPAs, obtain professional certifications, and actively participate in social practice and internships to enrich their experience and resumes.

Ms. Zou further elaborated on corporate hiring standards, highlighting that employers value employees’ sense of responsibility, attitude, learning ability, teamwork skills, and values. She advised students to showcase these qualities during job searches to better meet employer expectations. Finally, through comparative resume examples, she emphasized key aspects of resume writing and interview techniques, reminding students to tailor their resumes to different job positions, highlight their strengths and adaptability, and demonstrate professionalism and a positive mindset during interviews.After the lecture, Ms. Zou patiently answered students’ questions and provided targeted advice. Students expressed that the lecture deepened their understanding of career planning and gave them clearer direction for their future professional development.




Dean Hui Yanyan presented Ms. Zou with a letter of appointment, acknowledging her detailed insights—from analyzing the employment environment to career planning strategies and crafting HR-attractive resumes. Dean Hui emphasized that while students assess their strengths, they should also leverage opportunities provided by the university, such as the selection of outstanding students for English training programs in Singapore. She encouraged students to make the most of their four years at university and the platforms offered by the school to strengthen their professional foundation, improve English proficiency, and enhance cross-cultural communication skills, laying a solid groundwork for future employment
