Guangzhou Huashang College (formerly Guangdong University of Finance & Economics Huashang College) celebrated its 19th anniversary on December 26, 2024. To strengthen the emotional bonds between alumni and their alma mater, leverage alumni resources, and promote the sustainable development of the International School Alumni Association, the International School invited past alumni back to campus for a reunion and development discussion in celebration of this milestone.

That afternoon, the International School warmly received the returning alumni and held an alumniconferencein Room 408 of Qizhi Building. Attending the meeting were Guan Huihui, Director of Student Affairs Office of the International School; counselors Hao Zixiu, Yao Xiaomin, and Feng Lexin; as well as Vice President of the Alumni Association Huang Ruikang and alumni representatives He Jiali and Li Wenjie.

Ms. Guan Huihui first expressed warm welcome and gratitude to the alumni for returning to their alma mater. She highlighted the school’s strong emphasis on and support for alumni work and provided updates on the campus facelift, the school’s upcoming qualified evaluation, the focus on alumni resources, and ways to maximize alumni influence. She emphasized that alumni are precious resources and assets for the school’s development, with each alumnus representing the school’s reputation. She hoped alumni would work together and continue to care for and support the alma mater, joining hands to contribute wisdom and strength to the 20th anniversary celebration.

During the meeting, alumni thanked the school leaders and teachers for their nurturing and care, expressing honor at being invited back. They marveled at the school’s rapid progress and transformations in recent years and wished the school continued success and a smooth qualified evaluation. The discussion also covered the current development status of the International School Alumni Association and updates on the alumni’s personal and professional growth. Finally, the alumni committed to actively playing the role of the alumni association as a bridge and link for communication, integrating alumni resources to contribute to the school’s 20th anniversary celebrations and future development.

After the meeting, the International School presented the alumni with anniversary souvenirs and school gifts to thank them for their affection and care for the alma mater. Proud to be Huashang people and forever cherishing Huashang ties, they were encouraged to mobilize and invite more alumni to revisit the school, share experiences, and help guide younger students in their growth and success at Huashang.
