Associate Professor Wang Hailing Gave a Lecture on Harm and Prevention of Unhealthy Emotions


In order to enhance students mental regulation ability and help them be the master of emotion management, the International School of Huashang College cordially invited Associate Professor Wang Hailing to give a lecture on harm and prevention of unhealthy emotions, at 18:45 on October 25th, 2022 in Room 404 of Qizhi Building. It is the 22nd lecture of the Cultural Quality Lecture Series of the International School.


Associate Professor Wang Hailing is a Psychological Counselor and Teaching Master in the Literature School of Guangzhou Huashang College. She has been teaching for more than 30 years, published over 40 academic papers, published 3 textbooks as the chief editor, and hosted and participated in 3 provincial and ministerial projects. She has conducted many popular and well-received lectures for enterprises and public institutions in the regions around Guangzhou.


At the start of the lecture, Associate Professor Wang introduced the theme by quoting that anger hurts the liver, sadness hurts the lung, worries hurts the spleen, and fear hurts the body. In a humorous and pleasant atmosphere, she made the students understand the importance of the optimistic outlook through sharing her own experiences. Whats more, she concluded that unhealthy emotions have harmful effects on people, such as physical health, study and work, and interpersonal relationships.

Subsequently, Associate Professor Wang made several suggestions on emotion management: 1. Correct cognition 2. Comprehensive perspectives on problems 3. Eliminating absolutist requirements. 4. Putting yourself in other's shoes 5. Distracting attention 6. Rational catharsis 7. Reasonable catharsis 8. Exercise therapy.


At the end of the lecture, Associate Professor Wang led students to play interactive games in an interesting and vibrant way, through which students experienced the appeal of a good mood and the sheer delight, and gained the methods of healing themselves mentally. She stressed that a good mentality depends on the adjustment and coordination of the physic and psycho, which is essential for a happy life.


Till now, the 22nd lecture of the Cultural Quality Lecture Series of the International School has come to a successfully end. Lets keep away from unhealthy emotions, and welcome a happy life!
