ClassReview of the 2022 Freshmen English Intensive Training Camp

On October 15thand 16th, the English intensive training Camp forthe freshman oftheInternational School was officially organized in Qizhi Building. In order to make the students adapt to the international atmosphere as soon as possible, and enhance their confidence and interest in English learning, five outstanding Chinese and foreign teachers hold two and a half days’ English training courses for all freshmen.

In this training camp, the Chinese and foreign teachers carried outheuristic and interactive teachingon topics that students were interested in, such aswestern medical system, foreign literature, spoken English, Singapore culture, cross-cultural communicationand applying for overseasmaster degrees, which improved students’ learning enthusiasm.

Teachers are humorous, patient andpassionate in class. Through vividlanguage and informative contents, accompanied by illustrated videos and PPT, students canknow the different teachingstyles of Chinese and foreign teachers,learn more foreign cultural differences and local customs.During the class, studentsshow their motivation and enthusiasm throughvariousinteractiveactivities.

After theEnglishintensive trainingclass,the freshman made favourable comments on the courses and appreciated teachers’ efforts. They benefited a lot through the immersive and intensivetraining, for instance,strengtheningtheirspeaking and listening skills, mastering English learning methods and improving their cooperative consciousness. More importantly, the training aroused their interest in English learning and the courage to communicate in English, furtherenhancing their confidence anddetermination tostudy abroad.
