Ms. Shiena, a Singaporean teacher,has been specially invited todeliver IELTS speaking online lectures since September 8th, so as to helptheInternational Schoolfreshmen obtainthe requiredEnglish entrance qualifications for higher educationprograms in Australia, UK, USA, New Zealand.Thecourse was freefor freshmen of the International Schoolandstudents quickly signed up for it.

The introductiontoMs. Shiena and details ofthe first class are as follows.

Ms. Shiena graduated from a top education institution in the Philippines and has taught in many countries, such as China, Singapore and other nations. She has rich experience in English education and has a clear grasp of the learning characteristics of Asian students andeffective modernteaching methods. She is good at providing targeted training and teaching for students of different English proficiency. Significantly, she has helped many students achieve IELTS scores of 7.0-7.5,with the highest IELTS scoreachieved by a student in2019of 8.0. Ms. Shiena has been teaching at Edvantage Institute(Singapore)since 2010. She is good at guiding students to interact,criticallythink, master skills and improve IELTS scores.

On September 8th, Ms. Shienadelivered the first IELTS speaking class to the International School students. Ms. Liu Yang, from the School of Foreign Languages, followed the class and assisted Ms. Shienaduring theonlinesession. After a brief introduction, Shiena played a well-designed game and interacted with students, narrowing the distance between teachers and students.In arelaxed and cheerful atmosphere, students got acquainted with each other. After the game, students took an IELTS oral test. During this part, teacherslearned ofstudents’ current IELTS speaking levelwhich helped totarget one-to-one oral simulation exercises in the future.
